Description

This (no-churn) blue cookie monster ice cream is a personal favorite of Sesame Street’s Cookie Monster! It’s blue-tinted vanilla ice cream loaded with crisp crunchy cookies. Make it in 10 minutes then freeze.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream, very cold
  • 2 teaspoons AmeriColor Royal Blue gel food coloring
  • 1 14ounce can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 cup chopped Oreo cookies
  • 1 cup chopped Chips Ahoy chocolate chip cookies

Instructions

RECIPE PREP: Chill the metal bowl and whisk attachment of a stand mixer in the freezer for 15 minutes. Line a 9×5 metal loaf pan with parchment paper. Stick the pan in the freezer to chill until needed.

  1. Add heavy whipping cream and blue food coloring to the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment. Beat on medium speed until the cream forms stiff peaks (about 3 minutes).
  2. Detach metal bowl from the mixer. Add sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract. With a rubber spatula, gently fold them into the whipped cream. Once the condensed milk and vanilla are fully incorporated, add chopped cookies to the bowl. Gently fold them into the ice cream base.
  3. Transfer cookie monster ice cream to the cold prepared loaf pan. Place a piece of parchment paper directly on the surface to block out all air. Tightly wrap the the pan in plastic wrap followed by a layer of aluminum foil. Freeze for at least 8 hours, but preferably overnight.
  4. Once the ice cream has fully hardened, top with additional chopped Oreos and Chips Ahoy cookies. Serve and enjoy.

Notes

Use the exact recipe ingredients stated in the recipe. Do not substitute low fat or low-sugar products for the main ingredients. If you make substitutions, the ice cream will not have the correct texture or flavor. It will mostly likely result in a recipe fail.
