Homemade Brownie Recipe

Here’s how to make the best homemade brownies: Start by generously greasing a square baker. Set it aside. Preheat your oven to 350 F. In a small pan melt the butter. Transfer the melted butter to a medium-sized mixing bowl. Add the sugar and vanilla. With a simple wooden spoon or rubber spatula, stir until these ingredients are fully combined. Add two room-temperature eggs to the mixing bowl and stir well to incorporate.

Next, add the cocoa, baking powder, salt, and flour. Mix until all ingredients are combined. You want the brownie batter as smooth as possible, but it’s okay to still have a few small lumps.

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan. At this point you can already see how scrumptious these Halloween brownies will be. And if you’ve followed my other recipes, you know the drill. Go ahead and lick the spatula before washing it in the kitchen sink. Mmmm….so much chocolatey goodness! Bake your brownies for 20 minutes. Don’t worry about inserting a toothpick and having it come out clean. We don’t want it to be clean. We want yummy, moist brownies.

How to Decorate Halloween Brownies

As soon as your brownies come out of the oven, start decorating them with your favorite Halloween candies. Gently press each candy into the warm brownies. When you decorate this dessert, throw perfection out the door. It’s much better when the candies are just scattered about and crazy looking. The more festive the better!
