Planning a Halloween party is easy when you have an arsenal of quick-to-make recipes that are time-tested favorites. This Chex mix is one of those essential recipes! It’s made with simple ingredients and pantry staples.

HOW TO FINELY GRATE CHOCOLATE

The best way to grate baking chocolate is with a microplane zester/grater. Place both the unwrapped chocolate and microplane in the freezer for 15 minutes. The chocolate will be less melty and easier to handle.

If you only have access to a box grater, use the smallest holes. A serrated knife will also work, but the grating process will be messy.

To save time, buy a pouch of finely-grated American Heritage Chocolate online. It’s the product I’m using here for this recipe.

  • STEP 5: Divide coated cereal between two zip-top bags (gallon size).
  • STEP 6: If making tuxedo snack mix, add powdered sugar to just one bag instead of two. Add finely-grated chocolate to the second bag. Gently shake the bags until all pieces are evenly coated. Over the sink, transfer coated pieces to a colander. Shake off excess powder.
