How to Make Fruit Compote for a Yogurt Parfait
It’s very easy to make fruit compote! In a small pan over medium heat, add in the fresh raspberries and blackberries along with 2 tablespoons of orange juice. With a wooden spoon and/or a potato masher, stir and smash, smash, smash the raspberries and blackberries to break them down as much as possible. This process will take approximately 2-3 minutes. Allow the deep-red mixture to bubble up as you’re stirring and smashing.
After the fruit has been broken down, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add in the honey and mix well until fully incorporated. Continue stirring the fruit compote for 4-6 minutes or until it thickens up nicely and is beautifully fragrant. Allow the mixture to cool down before using it in your yogurt parfait. To speed up the cooling process, transfer the fruit compote to a freezer-safe dish. Stick the fruit compote in the freezer for 8-10 minutes.
