To make this easy blueberry cobbler, follow these simple step-by-step instructions. Because we’re multi-tasking by melting the butter while preparing the batter, the process below should take about 4 minutes.

  • STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter on the stovetop in a 10-inch cast-iron skillet.
  • STEP 2: In a mixing bowl whisk these dry ingredients together: flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and lemon zest.
  • STEP 3: Add the wet ingredients to the bowl: milk, vanilla and lemon juice. Whisk until the mixture is smooth.
  • STEP 4: Briefly swirl the butter in the skillet to butter the sides of the pan. This will help prevent the cobbler from sticking. Pour the batter into the skillet, directly on top of the butter.

  1. Yummy :) I used almond milk because that’s what I had on hand. Also only used 1/2 of the lemon’s juice because it seemed large and extra juicy. Everything turned out great.

  2. Went blueberry picking and made 2 of these. 10 out out 10 from the family! Easy and so delicious!

  9. 1st I wanna say that lemon zest on anything blueberry makes all the difference and 2 I was wondering about the clean up in the cast iron type pan? Difficult or not a problem?

    1. Hello Maggie! I’m so glad you found this yummy blueberry cobbler recipe. My Staub cast-iron pan has an enameled interior that’s super easy to clean. But when Grandma made cobbler she used a Lodge cast-iron pan. I don’t remember whether it was easy to clean or not, but considering how often she made this recipe the clean-up probably wasn’t a lot of work.
