These are the simple ingredients for making this fun and festive Jello parfait recipe: one box of green Jell-O, boiling water, cold water, one large container of Cool Whip, colorful jimmies and edible gold stars.
How to Make Jello with Cool Whip
Begin by boiling 2 cups of water. Add the powdered gelatin to a heat-resistant glass batter bowl with a pour spout. Pour the hot water over the lime gelatin. Whisk for two minutes until the powder is completely dissolved. Add cold water to the mixture. Whisk again.
St. Patrick’s Day Jello Cups
Divide the gelatin evenly between nine 7.5-ounce dessert cups that can fit inside a cupcake pan.
Tilt the cups sideways as you place them into the cupcake rounds. Refrigerate the St. Patrick’s Day Jello Cups for 4 hours or until firm. Pull the tub of whipped topping from the freezer and stick it in the refrigerator to defrost.
How to Assemble the Jello Cups
Spoon the Cool Whip into a zip-top bag. Gently press the air out of the bag and zip it shut. Snip off a bottom corner of the bag. Squeeze the bag to pipe the the Cool Whip into the dessert cups. Refill the bag with more Cool Whip, as needed.
